The Wheel of Fire tree is in flower

Here is a collage of some spectacular specimens from Mt Tamborine - photographed from the Skywalk way up at mid canopy height - in the rainforest and in the rain today. My photographs don't do them justice. These are almost orange in colour.

A Redcliffe Jewel

I've just met an another Etsy artist in Redcliffe - Marjon Scheffer. Trained in the Netherlands, she makes the most gorgeous silver and titanium jewelry using precious/semi precious stones. Check out her blog at http://marjonscheffer.blogspot.com/ and Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/MarjonScheffer

Beach Bag Blues

I've had a few printing disasters lately which has knocked my confidence a bit -I thought I had it all figured out. Problems with screen mesh size, fabric ink consistency and probably me!

So to cheer myself up I made a beach bag from a Nicole Mallalieu pattern I had yet to try, and some fabric which I had successfully printed on a previous run. Now I can relegate the Melbourne Age bag I have been using to grocery shopping.

Setting up Shop

This has been very time consuming and quite a learning curve - but I've got there. There is now a PalumaPrint shop on etsy.com - just one week old.

The shopping cart system using PayPal is effortless, having used etsy now as both a buyer and a seller. Very impressive setup and its been an interesting foray into the e-commerce world. My background in information retrieval has been useful in the tagging of items for the etsy database and the importance of relevant keyword in the descriptions. The hardest part has been producing quality photos which are both artistic and display the items to their best advantage. I've still got a way to go there.

A Different Kind of Beauty

The weather has been wild here the past few days - very high (and low) tides, rain and high winds - courtesy of ex cyclone Olga. I wonder what treasures will be washed up on the beach.
